A PALE CELADON JADE PEAR-SHAPED VASE AND COVER
18TH-EARLY 19TH CENTURY
The flattened vase is carved in high relief with two chilong at the sides and lion-masks at the shoulder, below a band of leaf lappets at the neck. The neck is carved with two loop rings supporting a large overhead swinging handle. The domed cover is surmounted by a ball finial. The stone is of a pale celadon tone.

Formerly in the collection of the Countesse de Bergeyck, Belgium, acquired prior to February 1953.
