A PARTHIAN GOLD AND GARNET PENDANT EARRING
CIRCA 2ND CENTURY B.C./A.D.
The conical pendant set with four tear-shaped garnet inlays with column of gold spheres between, a pendant gold sphere below surrounded by granulated pyramid clusters, 1 in. (2.5 cm.) high; a broad gold band ring with column of three gold spheres surmounted by two stylized horned animal head terminals, 5/8 in. (1.6 cm.) diam.; a pair of gold hoop earrings spirally wound with gold wire and decorated with gold wire coils and discs; a pair of circular hoop gold earrings; and a Western Asiatic single penannular tapering gold earring with flared butting terminals, 1 in. (2.5 cm.) across av., all 1st millennium B.C. (7)
