Sri Nathji at center standing on a base and backed by a white screen, flanked by dancing gopis on either side with fruit laden trees behind them, gods and goddesses in celestial vimanas flying through the star-filled sky, gopas and gopis at lower left worshipping at a marble temple, Krishna teasing the gopis at lower right, white cows decorated with red handprints standing on the banks of a lotus- filled river at bottom, 27 scenes of Shri Nathji worship on three sides with inscriptions, the entire painting with a red and blue floral border

The Sharat Purnima festival takes place in the fall during the full moon. It is also when Krishna met the gopis beneath a starlit sky. In the present example, Mount Govardhan is shown in blue with a temple at top, below Shri Nathji and the gopis. At the foot of the mountain, to the right, is the scene of the Dana lila. To the left is the scene of Mount Govardhan Puja, in which Krishna assumes the form of the mountain's spirit to receive the offerings from his fellow cowherders. Here, the dark-skinned god is shown surrounded by the platters of food.
