Lot Essay

J.M. Pontremoli (1888-1952) of Spring Street, London produced a range of needlework carpets in historical styles during the first half of the 20th century. Most examples were of similar dimensions to the present lot however a few were produced in much larger format, including one that sold in these Rooms, 23 May 2012, lot 375.
