Circular with scalloped rim, the centre painted with a view of Kamenny Island (Stone Island) in St Petersburg with two figures by the river, within gilt frame, the pale blue border with gilt and impressed band of scrolling foliage within blue borders, centring a crowned monogram 'M' within an oval cartouche surmounted with white ribbon, inscribed under base in Russian '1858 Vid Kamennogo ostrova. A.T.' ('1858 View of the Stone Island'), marked under base with green underglaze factory mark, incised number '96' and inscribed letter 'K'
