Lot Essay

The present table is a superb example of the highly successful combination of huanghuali and spotted bamboo. Here the craftsman has meticulously inlaid the bamboo in an elaborate diamond-shaped pattern. The result is a pleasing aesthetic, with the mottled lighter bamboo providing an attractive contrast to the darker, lustrous grain of the huanghuali.
