A RECTANGULAR FRAMED REVERSE GLASS MIRROR PAINTING
18TH CENTURY
The silvered glass is painted with a mountainous river landscape in which an elegant lady wearing loose flowing robes is seated on rocks feeding her son. She is flanked by a flowering tree peony to one side and two long-haired goats to the other. Details of her robe and jewellery are highlighted in gilt, in a carved giltwood frame.
The panel 13¾ in. x 8¾ in. (35 cm. x 22 cm.)
