A RECTANGULAR SOAPSTONE PLAQUE AND STAND, 18TH CENTURY
with extremely delicate carving depicting a mountainous retreat to the foreground surrounded by tall trees and high staggered rockwork, the far ground with a riverside landscape of bridges and figures in boats crossing the water to the architecture beyond, the lower right corner with incised signature, carved by Jin Nan of Qingtian, the fitted stand of soapstone, carved and pierced to resemble rockwork -- the plaque, 4¾in. (12cm.) wide.
