The rectangular top with reeded edge and three-quarter gallery, the front with concave centre above a mahogany-lined drawer flanked by two drawers to each side, on reeded turned tapering legs, brass caps and castors, the interior of the main drawer with early 19th Century ink inventory inscription 'N E 1'

Lot Essay

This dressing-table has slightly heavier legs than the others of this type at Hackwood. The evidence of the Memorandum and the Bill suggests that it was supplied at the same time as the others and that the differences simply reflect what Gillow had in stock at that time.
