The table's robust urn-shaped pillars are enriched with Pan reed gadroons, as is the Grecian-scrolled claw. The latter's bacchic lion-paws relate to those of an Irish sideboard-table in Dublin Castle, which bears the trade label of the celebrated Dublin firm of Mack, Williams & Gibton (see A. Alexander, 'A Firm of Dublin Cabinet-Makers: Mack, Williams & Gibton', Irish Arts Review, 1995, p. 147, fig. 13).
