A Regency mahogany striking bracket clock, first quarter 19th century
The arched case with brass handle to the top, arched fishscale soundfrets to the sides, on stepped and moulded base with hairy paw feet, with geometric inlay to the front, the white painted Roman dial signed JOHN KNIGHT (dial retouched), steel spade hands, the twin chain fusee movement with shouldered plates with engraved border, anchor escapement and strike on bell, pull trip repeat, with pendulum holdfast -- 17in. (43.5cm.) high
