A REPOUSSÉ GILT-COPPER FIGURE OF A BODHISATTVA
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The figure is shown seated on a throne with both pendent feet resting on a lotus blossom and backed by a separately cast aureole, his hands held in dharmachakramudra in front of his chest. He is dressed in flowing robes incised with foliate roundels and adorned with separate jewelry, with a filigree lotus blossom at each shoulder. The face is serene in expression, and the hair is arranged in a tall chignon secured with a separate tiara.
