A RETICULATED PALE CELADON JADE PLAQUE
EARLY MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
The oval jade plaque is carved as a spray of two morning glory flowers against a ground of curling leaves with border. The jade is mounted on a gilt-bronze stand cast in openwork as a pair of descending intertwined dragons. The whiskered dragon heads are each modelled turning in opposite direction, their claws on an oval stand.
10 3/8 in. (26.2 cm.) overall height with stand, box
