A ROMANO-EGYPTIAN BONE CIRCULAR LID WITH CONJOINED FISH
CIRCA 1ST CENTURY A.D.
Carved in relief and pierced in the centre for attachment, 1 7/8 in. (4.7 cm.) diam.; a relief fragmentary bone plaque of a prancing bull, 6th-3rd Century B.C., 2 in. (5.2 cm.) long; a bone nude standing youth with animal, his right hand placed on the head of a foal or similar animal, a pleated cloth held out in his left hand, 1st-4th Century A.D., 2¾ in. (7.1 cm.) high; a hollow bone head of a female with high, swept back hair, her eyes with drilled pupils, possibly circa 3rd-6th Century A.D., 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high; a bone seated Cupid with head resting on hand; a bone stylized bust; three other stylized figures; a Syrian fragmentary ivory figure, with incised eyes and mouth, the top of the head hollowed out and pierced twice at rear for attachment, the shoulders also drilled for attachment, circa 2nd Century A.D., 2¼ in. (5.7 cm.) high max.; and a later fragmentary relief plaque of Saint George and the dragon type(a lot)
