Examples of these large-size armchairs were advertised by many High Wycombe chair manufacturers in the 19th century as 'best' chairs, but to have a complete set really is most unusual. See Dr.B.Cotton The English Regional Chair, Woodbridge, 1990, pg 88 and 95
