This figure was originally modeled by Pierre Blondeau after François Boucher in 1752, and inspired by La Vallée de Montmorency by Charles-Simeon Favart. See A. Dawson, French Porcelain, A Catalogue of the British Museum Collection, 1994, no. 144, p. 177.
