A Silver-Inlaid Bronze Miniature Box
Joseon dynasty (19th century)
Of octagonal shape with flat base and top and fitted with a circular cover allowing access to the interior mounted with a quadrangular knop with ring, the top of the box inlaid in thin silver wire with the eight "precious emblems" and the eight sides of the box with a continuous river landscape including scholars seated on a rocky outcrop, thatched huts, scholars walking along a path and a fishing boat moored under a willow, the base inlaid in silver wire with a crane medallion within a ring of clouds and the circular lid with a collar of clouds
