A SILVER-INLAID WHITE BRONZE TRAY
EASTERN IRAN, EARLY 13TH CENTURY
With flat base and slightly everted rim, the interior with a central roundel depicting three musicians around the sun surrounded by scrolling vine, the central area bordered by eight lobed panels decorated with confronted birds and palmettes, each panel issuing a long wheat-ear which divides the tray into eight sections, each of which is decorated with a seated figure in a pointed medallion flanked by birds, the exterior with plaited bands, minor corrosion and losses in the inlay, otherwise in very good condition
