Set on four ivory-mounted feet formed as fish, the frame chased with scrolling foliage, with a detachable burner and cover, the cover handle with ivory, the burner base chased with a monogram, marked on frame and burner, and both stamped H/YI

The Martelé records indicate that this chafing dish stand was made with a matching terrapin tureen. The stand was made by John M. Sorum and Samuel R. Woolley.
