A SIX PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE ON TWO HANDLED TRAY, maker's mark of Durgin, retailed by Gorham, circa 1928, comprising tea kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, coffee pot, two handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl, each vase form with ribbed corners, on stepped shaped oval base, the lower body chased with radiating vertical acanthus divided by bellflowers, initialled S, the shoulder chased with panels of floral festoons headed by scalework and divided by bellflower and foliage, the pots with part foliate swan's neck spout, leaf capped scroll handle, part engraved collar, the hinged high domed ribbed and decorated cover topped by bone egg form finial (coffee pot with ribbed finial)--the tea kettle on shaped oval stand, over swing handle 14½in. (36.8cm.) high, the molded border to the shaped oval, initialled, tray with conforming scalework and bellflower festoons, with applied reeded rim, with two part foliate wrapped shaped handles--length over handles 30¾in.
