18TH/19TH CENTURY
Of fangyi shape, the tapering sides are decorated with stylized taotie masks reserved on a leiwen ground, and a pair of outward-curved handles rise from the narrow sides. The base is decorated with C-scrolls repeated on the top of the cover which is centered by a seated lion finial above openwork, conjoined cash motifs on the canted sides.

The Rende Zhai (House of Benevolent Learning) Collection, 1949-70s, in the United States before 1990.
