A SMALL GREEK POTTERY HANDLED CUP WITH GEOMETRIC DECORATION
8TH-7TH CENTURY B.C.
With flat base, flared concave sides and ring handle, the pale buff-coloured clay with black painted decoration, the interior with a band of diagonal strokes around rim, black sides with reserved broad band around base, the exterior with three registers of geometric decoration: horizontal stripes, stopped meanders below, and triangles around the base, the underside with concentric circles; and a Geometric pottery handled beaker, with carinated base, slightly flared sides and vertical handle, the exterior with three registers of geometric decoration with bands above and below, repaired
1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high and 3¼ in. (8.2 cm.) high respectively (2)
