The 'Chinese form' of the pieces from this service, with its characteristic angular handles, dates back to 1860 when it was used by the Imperial Porcelain Factory. Later, it continued to be very popular in the works of the State Lomonosov Porcelain Factory between 1920-1930
Ivan Ivanovich Riznich (1908-1998) was a painter on porcelain and a sculptor. He graduated from the Pavlovsk Art School in 1926 and in the same year joined the Lomonosov Porclain Factory. He worked for the factory as a painter and modeller until 1965 and again from 1975 until 1998. He painted many vases, services and figurines.
Elena Petrovna Kubarskaya-Soloveva (1905-1986) was a graphic-artist and porcelain artist. Between 1922-27 she studied at Leningrad Artistic-Industrial Technical College. From August to December 1927 worked as an artist at Proletariat Porcelain and Faience Factory at Bronnitsa near Novgorod. Between 1929-41 and 1943-45 she worked at the State Porcelain Factory, painting vases, services and sculptures.
