A TIMURID OR EARLY SAFAVID GOLD AND SILVER INLAID BOWL, IRAN, 15TH/16TH CENTURY
The compressed circular body finely inlaid in gold and silver with rectangular panels of calligraphy alternating with shaped panels of floral motifs below a ziz-zag pattern band to the neck, the underside inlaid with four double-circular panels reserved with foliate motifs -- 3½in. (8.8cm.) diam.
