A tortoise-shell oval box with silver inlay and a small oval box
The first apparently unmarked, probably The Netherlands, circa 1740 ; small box with indistinct maker's mark only, The Netherlands, 18th Century
The oval toroise-shell box with a silver rim on the hinged cover, the cover inlaid with a central monogram enclosed with foliage and two putti smoking a pipe (one badly damaged), the back inlaid with a woman and a man smoking a pipe and drinking; the small plain oval box with a detachable domed cover
