These items were purchased at the sale of Diaghilev and de Basil ballet costume held on 3 March 1973 by Sotheby & Co at the Chenil Galleries. The puce coat formed part of lot 80, from a later production of the Firebird, worn by the Princess; the frock coat and dresswere part of lot 173 ibid; the doublets were worn by the princesses in the above production, lot 80
