A TURQUOISE INLAID BRONZE DAGGER
EASTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, 5TH-4TH CENTURY BC
The tapering blade has a median ridge on each side. The guard is of notched outline and cast with angular dragon scroll formed by thin-walled recesses and tiny cylindrical 'eyes.' The handle is faceted on each side and terminates in a pommel similar to the guard. The blade has a mottled grey patina, and there is malachite and earth encrustation
