The design of fruiting and flowering clusters is seen on numerous blue and white vases and jars from the Yongzheng and Qianlong periods. Copper-red decorated versions of this design are rarer, and few are as finely pencilled as on the present vase which itself appears to be unique, as no other vase of this shape and design appears to have been published.

A blue and white vase of similar size and shape and with a comparable design, dated to the Yongzheng period, is in the Beijing Palace Museum, illustrated in Blue and White Porcelain with Underglazed Red (III), The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Commercial Press, Hong Kong, 2000, pl. 84.
