The oviform Wedgwood vase decorated in white on the black surface, the everted egg-and-dart rim and fluted socle, the neck with a fruiting vase, the body of the vase with a continuous scene of 'The Birth and Dipping of Achilles', the square base with anthemia, 8 3/8in.
