A WHITE JADE RETICULATED AXE-FORM PENDANT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The pendant is carved in the form of an axe, surrounded by a pierced border of two winged mythical beasts below two confronting dragons amidst scrolling clouds. Each side of the axe is carved in low relief with an animal head incised with a wang character. The stone is of an even milky white tone.
2 1/2 in. (6.4 cm.) long
