A YAOZHOU RUSSET-BROWN-GLAZED DEEP BOWL
JIN DYNASTY, 12TH-13TH CENTURY
The body of deep U-shape is covered inside and out with slightly metallic glaze of russet-brown color that shades to a darker tone below the unglazed rim, the glaze on the exterior falling irregularly over a russet-brown slip that is wiped clean at the edge of the foot, and the glaze on the interior ending at the bottom of the walls above the unglazed center.
4 5/8 in. (11.7 cm.) diam.
