A YELLOW-GROUND SGRAFFITO VASE
EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The elongated ovoid body is decorated with three large medallions of pairs of birds and various flowers including peony, dianthus and chrysanthemum in one; viburnum and wisteria in another; and chrysanthemum and millet in the other. All are reserved on a finely incised yellow sgraffito ground embellished with scattered flower sprigs. There is a Jurentang seal mark in iron red on the base.
