The present watercolour shows the Suraj Bhawan, the pavilion that acts as a communication point and link between the two courts of Suraj Mal's garden palace. As such it is thought that it was the pavilion where Suraj Mal was entertained by his women. At a later date the pavilion was encased in marble and it is thought that the pietra dura was probably looted from Mughal buildings.
