Safavid and Qajar Iran, late 16th to 19th century
Persian verses and verses from the Qur'an on paper, comprising twenty folios, most written in black nasta'liq on the diagonal, other examples of siyar mashq, some embellished with fine gold illumination, signed by Muhammad Husayn dated 1270, 'Ali al-Husayni, Muhammad Husayn al-Isfahani dated 1265, Jawaher Raqam dated 1081, 'Imad al-Hasani, Nasiri, Fahri, and Assadullah Shirazi' each mounted on card with margins of gold floral meander or gold-flecked cream paper, borders nineteenth century, bound in a concertina album with tan morocco binding, good condition, slightly split at spine
