Lot Essay

Isupov was a student of Arkhipov, Korovin and Serov at Moscow College from 1908-13. He was a member of the Vyatsk art movement, exhibiting with the Wanderers and becoming a member in 1916. He spent time in Uzbekistan and Turkestan. His work on the mosque at Samarkand is exhibited in the Usbek Art Museum. He taught in Turkestan, then lived in Moscow from 1922-25. He emigrated to Italy in 1926 and died in Rome. He was exhibited in Kirov in 1971, Moscow 1973 and Tashkent in 1977.
