Property from the Cambridgeshire Collection of Original Works for Children In 1945, the L.E.A. provided a sum of money, as well as asking schools to contribute to the fund, for the purchase of pictures for Cambridgeshire school children. The Collection grew to over 400 works. These works were loaned to schools on an annual basis, with the intention of providing real works of Art for children to experience. The funds raised from the sale of these works will enable the collection to be refurnished and for new works to be purchased and loaned, keeping the Collection alive and where it belongs - back in schools in front of children.
