A similar head to the one included in this lot can be seen in the Photo Gallery on the DVD version of Frenzy - the still shows Alfred Hitchcock sitting on a bench next to the Thames in London with the head on the bench next to him. It is thought that the head was originally made to be floated in the river during the opening sequence of the film, in keeping with the Hitchcock tradition of making a cameo appearance in all his films.
