QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
Of flattened form, decorated on the lower body with a taotie mask amidst archaistic C-scrolls, above the angled shoulder with a pair of confronted archaistic phoenixes, on the slender neck with bands of taotie, mythical beasts and ruyi alternated with key-fret, and on the foot with pendant lappets, all against a turquoise ground and further embellished with gilt-metal vertical flanges along the centre and silhouette of the vase
