Lot Essay

Henutaui, daughter of Pinudjem II and Isetemkhebi, successor of Maatkare, was a princess in the royal family at Thebes, and held the highest position a woman could hold in the Temple of Amun at Karnak; cf. J-F. Aubert, Statuettes Égyptiennes, Paris, 1974, p. 165, pl. 31, nos. 68-69, for similar shabtis in the Michaelides and other collections.
