The motif of a crouching jackal over nine bound captives arranged in three rows is generally recognised as that of the seal of the official necropolis administration at Thebes during the New Kingdom. It is found in the tombs of Ipuy at Dahshur and of Haremhab and Aperel at Saqqara, where it also occurs in the 26th Dynasty in the tomb of Tjanihebu, cf. exhibition catalogue, Egyptian Art at Eton College, Windsor, 1999, p. 41, no. 60 for similar.
