Lot Essay

The Hendre became Monmouthshire's only full scale Victorian country house with the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George V and Queen Mary) staying in 1900 as guests of Lord and Lady Llangattock, whose third son, Charles, was co-founder of Rolls Royce.
