The case modelled with winged caryatids trailing floral garlands from satyr masks, a squirrel resting on an oak branch to the front, with fluted socle above base with cut corners and with inset burning brazier mounts to the sides, its front with mount of an amorini riding a hippocampus, resting on four recumbent lions above a variegated green marble plinth, the white enamel Arabic dial with outer date ring (calibrated to 1-30), its numerals within blue borders and with green jewels within gilt bands, signed Faisant á Paris, with pierced and chased ormolu lyre hands and blued steel date hand, the eight day twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell; pendulum, key
