Bernard Molitor, maître in 1787.

This cabinet incorporates several decorative features which appear in the oeuvre of Molitor. The distictive herm pilasters and characteristic feet feature on several pieces stamped by him, which include two side cabinets, one reputedly from the collection of Baron Paul Grenier and another, which was sold at Sotheby's, New York, 21 May 1988, lot 158 (U. Leben, Bernard Molitor, London, 1992, nos. 30-31).
