An English oak longcase clock, third quarter 18th century
The case with stepped flat top hood with outset brass-capped columns, the rectangular trunk door with cross-banding, on plain plinth, the 10½in. square cut away brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to a brass chapter ring signed George Sale, with matted centre and cut steel hands, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, with later seatboard; composite, case and dial third quarter 18th century, movement late 18th century -- 76in. (193cm.) high
