Kitae [forging pattern]: The details are obscured owing to unsatisfactory polish, but prominent itame with masame hada

Boshi [tip]: midare komi with ko-aru on the omote and jizo style on the ura

The Uda school of Etchu province is believed to have been established by Kunimitsu who migrated from Uda in Yamato Province in the 14th century. The signature on this blade is that usually attributed to the 4th generation Kunimune who was active during the Bunmei era (1469-87)
