AN IVORY INLAID HARDWOOD CABINET
The elements Gujarat of Sindh, late 17th or early 18th century, combined in their present form in india circa 1800
Of rectangular form with hinged doors and two large drawers below, the doors opening to reveal twenty-nine graduated drawers with a row of pigeon holes above, the main doors each with a central panel inlaid with rows of ivory flowers, within a plain ebony band, a band of similar flowers above, the lower drawers and the lowest ones within the doors also ebony veneered, all the others with ivory floral designs, the central drawer inlaid with ivory depicting an amorous couple and weeping willow tree under a leafy arbour, various slight damages and cracks
