An ivory puzzle ball and stand, Zhuanxinqiu, and a pair of dancers
Late Qing Dynasty
The outer sphere carved in high relief with sinuous dragons among coiling clouds, revealing a concentric row of inner spheres pierced with geometric patterns, the stand carved with a central smaller puzzle ball between cylindrical sections carved with further dragons and star motifs, 42 cm. high; and a pair of ivory figures of dancers carved in mirror image, exposed chest adorned with beaded jewels, high coiffure, earrings, urna, serene expression, 30.5 cm. high (some damages and repair) (3)
