An Ivory Table Ornament (Okimono)**
Meiji Period (circa 1900), with signature Seiryu saku
Carved as an adult dragon balanced on the front claws and long undulating tail regarding its young, also carved with s-shaped spine and with the end of its tail curled around the spine of the adult dragon, surface details finely etched and stippled, eyes inlaid in horn, signed in an ivory oval reserve on underside
9½in. (22.8cm.) long; 3¾in. (9.5cm.) high
