Of hexagonal form, with interlocking cobalt-blue palmettes interrupted by stylised peony blossoms issuing from a central rosette and trellis against a white ground, with a border of two blue stripes, an outer border of cobalt floral motifs against a turquoise ground, small chips, slight restoration, in wooden frame

Lot Essay

A very similar tile was exhibited in Tulips, Arabesques and Turbans, Exhibition Catalogue, Leighton House, London, 1982, no.83, while another was sold at Sotheby's, London, 12 October 1982, lot 65.
