THE BUREAU CHARLES I, CIRCA 1631, THE STAND LATE 19TH CENTURY
The bureau inlaid with strapwork and perching birds among flowering vines, the fall front centred by initials 'RP:1631' revealing a fitted interior with five drawers and the front panel also hinged concealing three further drawers, the stand with a roundel-carved frieze and spiral turned legs, the underside of the front inscribed twice 'PETER: A DAWES 1650', restorations and replacements
